Joan Fasciana

JOAN FASCIANA, 74

Joan Fasciana died peacefully on April 11, 2014 at her home in Summerlin, Las Vegas, Nevada after a well fought battle with lung cancer. Joan was born on September 12, 1939, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Opal Lokowich.

Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Evangelist Church in Little Canada, Minnesota on Friday May 2nd, Visitation 9-11, 11:00 Mass and Interment, followed by luncheon at church.

Joan is survived by her husband, Gene Fasciana and four children, Matt Fasciana of Black Duck, Minnesota, John (Karen) Fasciana of Jacksonville Florida; Liz and Rachel Fasciana of London, England. She also took great pride in her grandchildren, Angie (Cory) Johnson, Ashley Schmid, Tony Nadeau, Taylor Fasciana, Geno (Emmy) Steinert, Drew (Julia) Steinert, Max and Laney White and two great grandchildren Evan & Anna. Siblings Jerry (Jan), Mark (Sandy) and John (Andy) Lokowich, Barbara Kranz and Mary Daly.

Joan enjoyed time with her family, cross-stitching dishtowels, sharing her best batch ever and was an avid reader, especially enjoying historical-centered Michener novels. She spent most of her life in St. Paul Minnesota with her loving husband, until they retired in 1999 and moved to California and then Nevada in 2013. In addition to raising their children, Joan worked many jobs including supporting her husband's printing business, Fortmeyer & Lang, and eventually retiring from Northwest Airlines after many years. Joan drew comfort and support from her faith and from the Catholic Church. She was also an active member of the Samaritan's at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palm Desert California.

She will forever be in many hearts
