Passed away on November 8, 2009. LaVone was born on May 17, 1913 in Grantsburg, WI. After completing Teacher's Training she taught in several rural schools in the Grantsburg area. She was married to Irvin Olson on February 13, 1942 at the home where she was born. She and Irvin worked in the Postal Department at Bethel University in St. Paul, and served as houseparents for some of the students there. LaVone was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church and loved, and was loved by her church family. LaVone will always be remembered fort her baking and homemaking skills, her love and interest in her family, her exquisite fashion sense, and her faithful prayers. LaVone was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin, her parents, her sisters, Annie (Fred) Nelson, Othelia (Victor) Tyberg, Irene (LaVerne) Sandberg, Amy Peterson, Viola Peterson, Elva Peterson, Parnell (Donald) Johnson; brothers, Rudy (Kathleen) Peterson, Delroy (Verone) Peterson and Roger (Sarah) Peterson. She is survived by brother, Maurice (Joyce) Peterson; sister-in-law, Kathleen Peterson; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of loved ones and friends. Visitation Wednesday, November 11, 4:00-7:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW, 4600 Greenhaven Drive at Highway 96 (one mile west of 35E), White Bear. Graveside service Thursday, November 12, 2:00 P.M. at Wood River Cemetery, Grantsburg, WI. Memorial service, Saturday, November 21, 10:30 A.M. at GRACEPOINT CHURCH, Silver Lake Road & Rice Creek Road, New Brighton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Tom & Joy Tebow, missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators.
