Mildred Olsen

Born Dewitt, VA. July 26, 1919 Died St. Paul, MN. October 25, 2010 Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by husband, John; parents, PA and Hessie Glass. Survived by brother, JH Glass of Dewitt; sons, Hunter (January Olsen Stone), Bill (Debra Siegel); grandchildren, Gus, Jordan, Carter, Arianna, many devoted nieces, nephews, other family in MN & VA. Millie enriched us daily with her strength, wisdom, acceptance and graciousness. She and 7 beloved siblings were raised on a tobacco farm. She met "Jack", her love of 51 yrs in St. Louis. She earned an MS, taught in St Paul schools, was a great writer, loved nature, and was active in her church. She taught her children to love truth and learning. Her grandchildren will remember that her home, heart, and kitchen were always open. She was always there for us and she will stay with us always. Memorial Service, Thurs. November 11th, 2PM, Macalaster Plymouth Church, 1658 Lincoln Ave, St. Paul. Special thanks to the staff of Lyngblomsten in St. Paul.
