Nandkumar Hemraj Keswani peacefully passed away on August 25, 2011, in Mahtomedi, MN. Born November 11, 1923 in Bangaldero, Sindh, India, Dr. N.H. Keswani was recognized as a Freedom Fighter and active student leader in the Quit India Movement; recipient of the U of MN Outstanding Achievement Award; a Mayo Fellow; Director, Dean and Professor of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences; held WHO faculty appointments to Burma, faculty appointments to Iraq, Jamaica, and served as Medical Director of Jaslok Hospital. An honoree of numerous societies and respected authority in the History of Medicine in Ancient India, Professor Keswani is most notable for the appreciation and admiration afforded him by his many students and colleagues. Husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Nand is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marianne (Colberg) Keswani of St.Peter and Mahtomedi, MN and children, Rajan (Eileen) Keswani, Ashwini (Sue) Keswani, Amyanne (Stan) Keswani Cope, Sushil (Photine Liakos) Keswani and grandchildren, Max, Charlie, Ben, Kemmer, Stanton, Elina, and Magnus, with many family and friends around the world. Visitation, 11-1 pm, Wednesday, August 31, with service to follow at 1 pm, Bradshaw Funeral Home, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear Lake, 651.407.8300.
