Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Florence (nee Rosner), parents, Ernest & Elizabeth, sister, Elizabeth Erb and brothers, Raymond & Ernest. Survived by children, James R. (Marilyn) of Alexandria, VA, Nancy J. Suty of Littleton, CO and Mark S. (Jill) of North Branch, MN; grandchildren, Gina Coerse, Eric, Kara Edwards, Kristin Tormey, Scott, Jaci, Will and Brian; 8 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ted Striny; sisters-in-law, Antoinette and Mabel; also nieces and nephews. Robert graduated from Washington High School class of 1937. He was a member of the Plumbers Union Local 34. He served his country as an Army Veteran in World War II and served in the 821st Engineer Aviation Battalion. He retired as a plumbing inspector from the City of St. Paul Water Department. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, St. Bernard's Catholic Church and a lifelong Rice Streeter. The family would like to thank Meadows on Fairview, Fairview Lakes Hospice and Ecuman North Branch for their loving care. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday 11AM at CHURCH OF ST. BERNARD, 187 West Geranium. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4-7PM at BRADSHAW, 1078 Rice Street.
