McCoy, Shelley Jean
Died March 6, 2011 at her home in Minneapolis. Shelley was born August 15, 1952 in Cleveland, OH, and proceeded with her family through Toledo, OH, Oconomowoc, Florence, and Tomah, WI, and Albert Lea, MN before arriving in Minneapolis at age 18. Shelley was widely known and loved in Minneapolis' natural foods and alternative health care community through her work at Tao Foods, the Wedge Coop, The Mudpie, the New Riverside CafAC., Seward Coop, Jon Oulman Salon, and SPOT Spa. Back in the day she was a member of the In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater. Shelley was an old-school hipster with a well of talent, a heart of gold and deep-seated compassion and vibrance. Preceded in death by father Victor. Survived by husband Stephen Seefeldt, mother Carol, sisters Terry, Andrea (Ricardo) de Jesus, brothers David (Star), and Brooks (Jackie), son Nico, grandchildren Gabriel Reason, Sonny, Max, Miles, Elan and Lily, numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral Service Saturday, 11:00 A.M at ST. MARY'S GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 3450 Irving Ave. S., Minneapolis. Visitation Friday, 4-8 PM at Bradshaw (McDivitt-Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Ave. S., Minneapolis. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials to Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet or donor's choice preferred.
