Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Dear Friend, Age 86
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 26, 2010. Preceded in death by brother, Huzon J. Stewart, Jr. Survived by husband, John; daughter, Sarah Thompson (Rob); son, John Jr. (Susie); grandchildren, Brody, Ken, Gwendolyn, Shaylyn, and Moses; great-grandchild, Lillian. Susan was born in Springfield, VT. She grew up in Chester, VT and attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA. In 1946 she married John Vance Goldthwaite, also of Chester, VT. She moved to Schenectady, New York in 1948, where they raised their two children. She taught swimming lessons at the Mont Pleasant YMCA and was very active in and a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. For many years she participated in the Jolly Swingers Golf League, as well as the Juliet Bowling League. In the summer of 2010, she and her husband relocated to Stillwater, MN and were residents of Boutwells Landing. Memorial Service Friday, 1:00 P.M. at BOUTWELLS LANDING SWANSON FAMILY CHAPEL, 5590 Norwich Parkway, Oak Park Heights. Visitation one hour prior. Burial in the spring in Chester, VT. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donor's choice.
