Preceded in death by Phyllis (Szalapski), his loving wife of 66 years, and their infant son, David, their daughter Kathleen and her infant son Frankie. Also preceded in death by sons-in-law Ray Gadwa and John Webb.





Tyson is survived by his children and their families.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and family friends.





Tyson was a dedicated family man who believed in God and country. His many years of service to state and federal government were marked by honesty and integrity. His failing eyesight over the last twenty years and his dementia for the past ten years prevented him from participating in organizations that he supported. In particular, the Knights of Columbus, the Internal Revenue Service retirees and the Civilian Conservation Corps were important to him.





Tyson was very appreciative of the loving care he received at New Harmony Care Center and the frequent visits from his children and their families.





Visitation at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.. at Saint Bernard's Church, Rice and Geranium in Saint Paul on Saturday, October 8, 2011. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.





Memorials preferred to New Harmony Care Center, 135 E. Geranium, or Maternity of Mary Church, 1414 N. Dale Street.
