Adeline “Gussie” Cecelia Carroll

Adeline “Gussie” Cecelia Carroll

d. November 23, 2025

Bayport, MN

Age 59 of Bayport

Passed away unexpectedly at home on November 23, 2025. She passed peacefully in her bed with her husband, Scott Loux, present.

Gussie was born in Stillwater, MN in January of 1966. She was the baby of the family, born the last of 7 total siblings. She grew up in her parents home in Stillwater and attended Stillwater High School. She knew how to have a good time, known for attending parties and always causing some trouble. She would also spend a lot of time camping on the St. Croix River with her parents and siblings.

Gussie devoted her life to helping others. After finishing school, she worked various careers that helped to change the lives of others in her community. She managed charitable donation funds for various local charities in Stillwater and Bayport, including the Valley Outreach where she would help disperse their collections to those in need. Her most recent career was working in the cafeteria providing meals for the children of Lake Elmo Elementary School.

Her sons, Dylan, Mac, and Alex were her entire world. She raised them to be strong, supportive, and gentle. She always encouraged them to bring joy to the world, and passed on her infectious sense of humor to her boys. They were the light of her life and she loved seeing the men they grew into. It was quite a journey from the troublesome trio that ran amuck in Somerset, WI, where she raised them with their father, Rick Asp.

Gussie loved bacon, almost as much as she loved her 3 sons. She didn’t like to share but she would make exceptions for her husband Louie on occasion.

She also loved to road trip, especially to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where she spent many wonderful days with her friends and family collecting shells and enjoying the ocean air. She would blast her favorite artist, Keith Urban, and daydream of marrying him some day.

When home in Minnesota, she spent her time hunting grouse with Louie and camping by the St. Croix River. She often babysat her grand-dogs for her sons, often spoiling them with time on the couch and walking them down to the local ice cream shop for a Pup Cup. She loved having Pool Days with her sisters, good friend Marie (aka Boo), and many other friends, where Cherry Bombs and laughter flowed freely.

Gussie is preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Joyce; brother, Mark; sister, Deborah, and brother-in-law, Kevin.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Loux; children, Dylan (wife Nikki), Mac, Alexander Gussie (finance Annika); siblings, Jodi, Lucy, Eugene, and Denise; her snuggly kitty, Tali; many nieces, nephews, other relatives; good friend Marie, and many more friends.

Her Celebration of Life will be an open event held at The American Legion Post 48 on Friday November 28th at 4pm. All are welcome to come and celebrate her beautiful life.
