Agnete Temali

September 19, 1922 — March 16, 2024

TEMALI, Agnete(Nete)

Age 101 of St. Paul, Shoreview, and Arden Hills passed away on March 16, 2024.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Josip(Joe).

Survived by sons Nick and Mihailo(Laura); grandchildren Adriana, Josip, and Claire; great-grandchild Alexander(Alex); and many nieces and nephews in Denmark and Canada.

Nete was born in Denmark on September 19, 1922 and met her future husband in Germany after WWll. They were married on April 1st, 1950 and immigrated to the United States on December 11, 1950, becoming US citizens on Sept. 4, 1956. They originally lived in Niles, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky before moving to St. Paul in 1956.

Having already earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Copenhagen, Nete earned another MSW degree from the University of Minnesota. She worked as a social worker for Capital Community Services and the St. Paul Public Schools, retiring in 1980 when Joe retired. After she retired, Nete was an active volunteer at the Science Museum of Minnesota, the National Park Service Birding Boat, and tutored ESL students in St. Paul and New Brighton.

They lived near Mounds Park for 43 years, with the great view of the Mississippi River and downtown St. Paul, and enjoyed their cabin on Blue Lake for many years.

They loved to travel together to Europe and Canada to visit family, and around the world. Blessed with good health her entire life, Nete loved the outdoors and would take daily walks outside as weather permitted. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. A private funeral service will be held. Memorials preferred to the Danish American Archive(1738 Washington St, Blair, NE 68008) or the Danish American Center(3030 W River Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55406)
