Alouise Elizabeth Laverty passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025.
Alouise was born January 27, 1928 in Rochester, Minnesota. Her family moved to California in 1942. She attended John C. Fremont High school in Los Angeles California. She received her Business degree from Los Angeles Business School.
Alouise's working career included Olmsted County Agricultural Department, Rochester State Bank, and lastly Jefferson High School in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Alouise was a gracious and vibrant woman with a strong faith and was an active participant in her community, playing bridge, reading, knitting and attending water aerobics bi-weekly. Travels took her to London, Paris, Germany, Italy, Sicily, Spain and winters in Florida, Texas and beyond.
She was always very social and an avid sports fan, following professional, collegiate and high school sports as well as the multiple sports of her beloved grand and great grandchildren. Alouise lit up a room with her positive attitude and sparkling smile. She was a lifelong learner. Navigating and communicating through social media until her last breath. Her family loved that she never wanted to miss an opportunity to be included in all family/friend events. Often being accused of FOMO, fear of missing out.
Alouise was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Peterson, brothers Frank(Curtis) and William, her husband, Jesse, and son, Craig. She is survived by her children Jan (Scott) Johnson, Todd (Molly) Laverty, and Bruce (Renee) Laverty. Grandchildren: Angela Rassas, Jill King, Mackenzie Farrill, Tyler Laverty, Erin Mathew, Dain Laverty, Keegan Cannatello, and Greer Costello.
Great-grandchildren: Madison, Mackenzie, Samuel, Benjamin, Adele, Maxwell, Tyson, Rose, Ace and Joey.
A special thank you to Doctors Lou Salet Glad, Daniel Okubo, William Young, Luke Benedict, Louis Jacques, Brian Mahoney, Tracy, Christina Utz, and Margaret Mary Underwood. Their ongoing high-quality, compassionate care felt genuinely personal. A true gift to the medical profession.
Also, thank you to Lakeview Hospice and Croixdale Presbyterian Home for providing her comfort and a home.
Gratefully,
The Alouise Laverty Family
