Rock, Ann Kristin Clayton
Age 80, of Stillwater, passed away on January 13, 2016. She was a devoted wife and mother, an adoring grandmother, a faithful advocate for justice and a dear, dear friend to many. Ann was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin, the oldest of three girls. She is predeceased by her parents, Norman and Kathryne Clayton and a sister, Judy Wee. Ann grew up loving the outdoors, music and her family. Ann received her degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin. She and her husband Carroll lived in Chicago, Denver, Boston, Washington DC and finally Stillwater, where they raised their three children, Douglas, Barbara and Paul. Ann enjoyed playing sports, traveling, laughter, learning, theater, enjoying coffee and ice cream with others. Her faith was central to her life and Ann's work with Habitat for Humanity and numerous church organizations channeled her deep longing for justice and God's love for all people. She was an inspiration to many. Ann is survived by her husband Carroll; son Douglas (Gayle), daughter Barbara, son Paul (Stacey); grandchildren Brianna, Stephanie, Griffin, Emily, Nathan, Claire; great grandchildren Eloise, Quinlan and Roman; sister Kathleen Grillo. Service will be on Sunday January 17, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater. Visitation one hour prior. Memorials may be made to Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA), First Presbyterian Church Stillwater Mission Fund or donor's choice.
