Arlene Kortan Litchy

Age 81, of Stillwater, died peacefully  March 10, 2024.

Preceded in death by  brother, Louie Kortan and sister-in-law Yvonne Kortan.  She will be sadly missed by husband, Charlie; children: Michelle (Chuck) Weiler, Robert (Stephanie) Litchy and Ann-Marie (Matt) Hotary; grandchildren, Abbey, Hillary, Ellissa Weiler; Shelby (Cam Ingberg), Lexi, Sydney Litchy; Olivia, Emmett Hotary;  great-granddaughter, Ruby Weiler; brother, Don Kortan; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  

Arlene was born the youngest of 3 children in Sauk Centre, MN where she grew up and graduated high school. After high school she moved with girlfriends to Minneapolis, working at a local bank. She met her husband, Charlie, at a lake party and they were married in 1964. Arlene spent a number of years as a homemaker and childcare provider until returning to banking in the late 1970’s. She started as a teller at First National Bank of Stillwater, moving up to end her career as a commercial loan officer for US Bank. Arlene was mother to so many, not just her own children. She was a devoted wife and caring friend.  She always had an unfailing strength in God which lead her through the hard times in her life, including her diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia. Arlene loved to quilt, volunteer, and most of all spend time with her family. She was surrounded by family and friends until her passing. She will be missed by so many. 

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, May 18, 2024, 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 423 South 5th Street, Stillwater with visitation one hour prior to the Mass.
