(nee Class) 10-26-1920 - 12-11-11 after a long battle with Alzheimers.


Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill, of 62 years and her parents, Charles W. and Lily A. Class. Survived by her daughters, Rev. Christine Fossum (Roger) and Dr. Cynthia Muths (Terry); son, William S. Nettekoven (Cindy); brother, Charles A. Class (Joy); 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 1 nephew. Arlene was born in St. Paul, MN, and grew up near Como Park. She was very athletic in her youth and played hockey at the local rinks near her home. She graduated from St. Paul Washington HS in 1937 and from the Univ. of MN in 1941 where she earned her degree in elementary education. After graduating, she moved to Plainview, MN to teach where she met her husband Bill. They were married in 1944 and she returned to St. Paul to teach at Summit School while Bill served in WWII. She took a break from teaching to have their three children. She returned to teach kindergarten at Mattocks, Eastern Heights and Ames schools in St. Paul. Besides her family, teaching was her love and passion until she retired in 1985. She and her husband spent their retirement years traveling the US in their motor home, spending winters in Arizona and hiking many a trail with her dog BG. Memorial service Thur., December 15th at 4:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Wed., December 14th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimers Association or Presbyterian Homes.
