Aurora Solsrud was a radiant soul whose smile lit up the room when she was born on March 19, 2011. She died by suicide on January 27, 2025. Aurora possessed a spirit as bright and vibrant as the northern lights for which she was named. Throughout her young life, she brought joy and generosity to everyone around her.
Aurora was an excellent student, with a zest for learning. She loved her fur baby brother, Mushu, loved to dance, and devoted her days to being the best she could be. Aurora embraced life with infectious enthusiasm, loved to travel with her family, and cherished all of the memories she made in Disney. She was an amazing friend to all she met.
Aurora and her sister, Arabella, were the best of friends. They danced together, travelled together, supported and loved each other.
Aurora is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Toni Rahn and Brian Solsrud; sister, Arabella; grandparents, Dale and Marlys Rahn and Ardath Solsrud; aunts and uncles, Corinne Solsrud (John Kohler), Rachel Goodell (Michael), Gregory Solsrud (Martha), Maria Garcia Solsrud, and Troy Rahn; cousins, Ryan, Brooke, Nathaniel, Annaliese, Grant, Kassandra, Winston, Tatiana, and Sofia; and friends too numerous to count. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Glenn Solsrud, her great-aunt, Nancy Anderson, and her family-by-choice, aunt, Maren Mayo.
A celebration of Aurora's life will be at 6:00pm, on Thursday, February 6th, at North Heights Lutheran Church, 1700 Highway 96, Arden Hills; visitation will begin at 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Aurora's name to Children's Minnesota Hospital or the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf.
