Barbara Irlene Johnson, 75, of Oakdale passed away peacefully on January 3.
Barb grew up in Missouri where she became a lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. She attended Raytown High School and moved to MN in 1968 where she met her catch of a lifetime, Bob, in a smoky bowling alley. Bob and Barb were married in 1974 and raised their two children in White Bear Lake then later moved to Oakdale.
Barb was often seen cheering for her kids (and eventually her grandkids) at ball games, dance recitals, school plays, and band concerts. She always shared cookies and brownies that she baked but called them "vegetables" to give her grandkids permission to eat as much as they wanted.
Both Bob and Barb were active bowlers on a family team, and Barb also bowled with her friends on a team they called the "Looney Tooners".
She loved sewing, crocheting, camping, and was often seen sneaking treats to any dog she encountered.
Preceded in death by her father, Bob, and her mother, Betty. Survived by husband, Bob, son Brent (Meghan), daughter, Beth, sister Brenda (Ed), nephews, Matt and Mike (Rachel), grandchildren, Grace, Lucy, Max, and Emily, and many cousins and friends. Celebration of Life June 5 at 11:00, Bradshaw in Stillwater. Visitation one hour prior. Internment Fort Snelling 1:30.
