Roban, Barbara Ann (Abraham)
May 28, 1946 to April 29, 2025
Graduated Roosevelt High School Class of 1964. Married John Peter Roban October 16, 1965.
Survived by daughters, Michele (Andrew) Halvorson, Jo (Scott) Gilbertson, and Laura (Kenneth, Fiancee) Jones: grandchildren, Eric, Alan, Marcus, Ty Gilbertson Siri, Annika, Kjersti Halvorson; siblings, Kathryn (Len) Runman Zimney, Robert (Prinny) Abraham. Preceded in death by parents, grandparents, husband John and grandson Wyatt Borden.
Barbara ran an in-home daycare and when her girls were all in school she returned to the workforce. She was employed many years at Nativity of Mary Church and St. Albert the Great Church. She was proud of going back to college later in life and received a FCBA - Fellow in Church Business Administration. She was very proud of her fundraising efforts, volunteer coordinator role and being a business administrator at these parishes.
Outside of work she started up a Girl Scout Troop, she taught them crocheting of scarves, camping, cooking and of course fundraising.
Barbara loved to travel to see friends, family and new places. She did not mind going by car, boat, airplane or train. She especially enjoyed going to see her daughter’s grandsons and granddaughters numerous events. Football, Basketball, Baseball, Track, Volleyball, Choir Concerts and Play Performances, she loved them all and was so proud of everyone’s accomplishments.
She was lucky to have women’s retreats, book clubs, Saturday Nighter friends, TOPS friends, neighborhood and church friends as well as APM & APBA members through the Archdiocese.
Her hobbies included crocheting, gardening, baking, biking, visiting people, sharing her smile and sense of humor as well as listening and hosting private parties in her home. She belonged to Shawl Ministry, BeFrienders, Longfellow/Seward Healthy Seniors and Rosary Altar Society. She was a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Barbara will be missed by all who knew her personally or through stories shared by her daughters.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, May 10, 11:00 A.M. at ST ALBERT THE GREAT CHURCH, 2836 33rd Avenue South, Minneapolis. Visitation one hour prior. Luncheon follows at 12:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to CHI Health at Home Hospice.
