Age 94 of Stillwater passed away on Christmas Eve, 2025.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Frank; parents Benjamin and Marie Lay; siblings John, Myrtle Rohrer, Janet Holtkamp, Cassie Maahs, Bernice Soper, Arlene MacKenzie, and Virgil.

She is survived by her children; Larry, Randall (Pamela) Mitchell-Holm and Pam (Joe) Cote; 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and sister Glenda Rutz.

Betty was born in Clara City and attended Verndale High School. She met Frank in school and they married and began their family soon after.

Betty loved to sing anytime she could in church and she enjoyed playing her piano at home. Betty and Frank traveled whenever they could. It started with a camper, then RV’s after that. For years they would drive up to Lake Geneva Bible Camp. After they retired, they headed to Arizona for the winter and did that for about 20 years. She loved to have people over, always making sure she had a dessert to serve.

A service celebrating Betty's life will take place at Bradshaw, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater on Tuesday, January 13th at 11am with a visitation an hour prior.
