Betty Jean (Stolpe)

Age 89 of Minneapolis, passed away on December 31, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Gordon (Beth Palkki) Norheim, Jr., JoAnn Norheim, John Norheim; stepchildren, Christopher (Catherine Winter) Julin, Jeannine (Steve) Kuhlmann; grandchildren, Lara (Jeremy) White, Jesse (Andrea) Norheim, Karl (Beth) Mattson, Nels (Meredith) Mattson, Anders Mattson, Ryan (Emily) Neumann, Sarah Norheim, Kyle Norheim, Alayna Kuhlman, Mason Kuhlman, Reece Kuhlman; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Laura Stolpe; brother-in-law, Bob (Helen) Norheim. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of their children, Gordon Norheim; parents, Fred and Helen Stolpe; siblings, Fred A., Gertrude Riley, Ruth Provencal.

Betty was born and raised in Minneapolis, and graduated from South High School in 1951. She spent 25 years as a library aide in the Minneapolis Public Library system (now Hennepin County Libraries). She was a kind elder sister, devoted homemaker and cookie baker, and a skilled seamstress. Betty and Dick traveled together extensively on elderhostel tours. Some favorite destinations were New Zealand, South Africa, Scandinavia, Germany and Italy.

A private family memorial service will be held; interment at Lakewood Cemetery at a later date. Memorials preferred to the South High School Foundation.
