Betty Springsteen

Betty Ann Springsteen (nee Morrell) died July 16, 2015, at Christian Community Homes of Osceola.
Betty was born in Stillwater, Minnesota and graduated from Hammond, Wisconsin. She married Malcolm Springsteen on January 4, 1943. Together they raised seven children in Marine on St. Croix, where they served their church and community for over 50 years.
Betty enjoyed many crafts and helping others, but her greatest joy was her growing family. She spent many hours sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren, as well as knitting, crocheting and embroidering for them. She loved having her entire family together, especially for holidays and birthdays. The house would ring with laughter and lively conversation.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sharon O'Shea, son Bruce E. Springsteen, grandson Tim O'Shea, sister Ruth Wisner, and brother James Morrell.
She is survived by her brothers, Don Morrell, and Dean Morrell (Virginia); daughters, Linda Pearson, Mary Ellen Deans, Gwen Roden (Larry), Tracy Junker (Steve), and Terri Springsteen; grandchildren, Mark Pearson (Rachel), Todd Pearson, Kelly Chartrand (Joel), Trisha Schmidt (Brett), Molly Smith (James), Troy Roden, Adam Roden, Sarah Neuman, Samantha Neuman, Jesse Junker and Noah Junker; as well as several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life held on Friday, July 31, at 2:00 p.m. at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 150 Fifth Street, Marine on St. Croix. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Oakland Cemetery.
