Brian Lansworth Johnson

Brian L. Johnson passed away on August 22. 2026 at the age of 87. He was surrounded by his loved ones in the days leading up to his passing.

Born in Blackduck, Minnesota on July 06, 1939, Brian was the only son of Clarence and Linda (Hanson) Johnson. He was a proud alum of St. Olaf College and attended law school at the University of Minnesota. He spent his career as a managing editor at West Publishing Co.

He was the loving husband of Joanie (Peterson) Johnson, his wife of 51 years, whom he is now reunited with. He and his family loved spending time together at their lake home, where he would prove his incredible card game skills to his grandchildren. Other hobbies were playing bridge, gardening, fishing, and golf as well as attending the many sporting events of his children and grandchildren.

A man of incredible generosity, wit, and faith, he will be forever missed and remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Brian is survived by his four children, Kristin (Brian) Burge, Kari Johnson, Dave Johnson, and Joel Johnson, and his five grandchildren, Tyler, Caroline, and Zach Burge, and Ava and Jackson Johnson.
