Cal Michael "Cali-Man" Lewis
April 16, 1996 - October 7, 2025
Our beloved son, Cal Michael Lewis, affectionately known as "Cali-Man," left this world on October 7, 2025, at the age of 29.
Cal's life was one of laughter, love, and light. He had the kind of energy that filled a room and a smile that could lift even the heaviest heart. He loved deeply, cared fiercely, and always found a way to make people laugh-usually when they needed it most.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on April 16, 1996, Cal started life out strong, weighing in at 11 pounds, 2 ounces. From the very beginning, he had a presence that couldn't be missed.
In his youth, Cal excelled at baseball, football, lacrosse, and basketball-always surrounded by friends, fun, and music. He was quiet yet funny, with a unique charm, an unforgettable smile, and a confidence that turned heads wherever he went. Cal had a style all his own-bold, creative, and full of personality.
A true artist at heart, Cal poured his creativity into designing clothing, painting, and making music. He had an incredible gift for expressing himself and connecting with others through his art, and in his role as Program Director at Coastal Point Recovery in Dana Point, California.
At his Celebration of Life in Huntington Beach, California, we heard from many individuals whom Cal had helped-people who remain in long-term recovery today. They shared that he was easy to talk to, always made time for them, made them feel seen and heard, and treated them with dignity and respect. On a lighter note, they also commented on his good looks, towering height, sharp fashion sense, and superb hair.
Following the death of his big brother Ryan in 2014, Cal's journey in this life wasn't easy. But he faced his struggles with courage and determination. Though his battle with substance use brought pain, it never dimmed his beautiful heart, his humor, or his endless capacity to love.
Our family shares this with honesty and open hearts because we know he would want his story to bring hope, awareness, and compassion to others who may be fighting the same fight.
Cal is preceded in death by his big brother, Ryan, and is survived by his father Monte Lewis, mother Lori Lewis, sister Jenna Lewis, and brother Wilson Lewis. He also leaves behind his grandmothers Gail Thornley and Priscilla Smith, his girlfriend and loving support Lynda Koliba, his new puppy Ozzy, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who adored him.
Cal was deeply loyal, caring, and loving-a true empath who felt deeply for others. Those lucky enough to know him will forever carry his spirit, laughter, and love in their hearts.
"Love leaves a memory no one can steal."
