Captain Dan Trudeau

Of Lake Elmo, passed away on August 30, 2025.

Dan was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Diane and Jim Trudeau. He was preceded in death by his father Jim. He is survived by his wife, Cherie; son, Joshua; step-children, Alexandra, Miranda and Nathaniel. He is survived by his mother, Diane Trudeau-Morgan; step-father, David Morgan, brother, Michael (Karen); brother, Ted; seven nieces and nephews; and four great nephews. 

Dan was a 1986 Stillwater graduate and went on to a lifelong career as a River Boat Captain on the St. Croix River. He loved music all his life and was very instrumental in the music community. His talent along with his charismatic personality, humor and kindness made him a respected entertainer. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. 

There will be a Celebration of Dan's Life on October 12, 2025 at 2 PM at the Dugout Bar, 96 Mahtomedi Avenue, Mahtomedi, MN. Bring your instrument and stories to honor Danny and the many lives he touched. 

In lieu of flowers, the family will be making a contribution to a local organization dedicated to providing vital resources for individuals facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders.

Let us come together to help break the stigma surrounding these struggles and be part of the solution. In honor of Danny, your support can offer hope, healing and a path forward for those in need.
