Carrie Bajda, a warm-hearted and compassionate woman known for her deep love of family, friends, dogs, and life at the lake. Born and raised on Minnesota’s Iron Range, Carrie carried the values of hard work, kindness, and resilience with her throughout her life.
After graduating high school, Carrie pursued her passion for helping others by attending technical school, where she studied to become an optician. Upon completion, she moved to Duluth to begin her career, quickly establishing herself as a dedicated and caring professional.
It was during high school that Carrie met Paul, the love of her life, at a church retreat in Sturgeon Lake. Their connection was immediate, and they stayed in touch over the years, especially during holidays when Paul would visit his family in Gilbert, where Carrie lived. Their friendship blossomed into love when Paul moved to Duluth for college. A few years later, they were married and soon started a family of their own, relocating to the Twin Cities and welcoming their two children, Kendall and Gavin.
Carrie found true joy in being a mother, especially in her role as a “hockey mom.” She embraced the hockey community with open arms, forming close friendships with other parents and fully immersing herself in the excitement of the rink. Whether it was cheering from the stands or organizing team events, she loved every moment.
Outside the rink, Carrie found peace and happiness at the family cabin. Lake days, especially pontoon rides, were among her favorite ways to spend time with loved ones. She had a special connection to nature and treasured every opportunity to be near the water.
Animals held a special place in Carrie’s heart, particularly large dogs. Her last two were gentle giants—Great Danes who quickly became part of the family. Her current dog, Rocky, shared a unique bond with her, faithfully staying by her side, whether snuggled on the couch or lying beside her bed during difficult times. Their companionship was a source of great comfort and joy.
Carrie’s legacy is one of kindness, loyalty, and deep love. Her gentle spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering support for those she cared about made her a cherished presence in the lives of many. She was the heart of her family and a steady light to her community.
She leaves behind a life well-lived and hearts forever touched by her grace.
