Carol Janice Richter

On the morning of August 4, 2026, Carol B. Richter passed away peacefully at home in the care of family and friends.

Carol was 102 years old.

Born in Minneapolis to Freida and Ernest Bremmer. Carol graduated from Roosevelt High in 1942. She received a degree in Education from the U of MN in 1946. Carol moved east with her husband John, settling in Pennsylvania. In her six- ties, Carol returned to the Midwest, eventually returning to MN for the last 20 years of her life.

Carol was a naturalist, a teacher and a writer. Her love of nature was infectious. An avid birder, she inspired genera- tions of birders with her extensive knowledge on the subject.

She was a devout Quaker since the 1960's, a passionate supporter of anti-war causes.

In her final days, Carol asked for peace.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John, siblings, Phil, Barb, and Mark, and her beloved Shadow.

She is survived by her children, Laura and Rolf, grandchildren, CJ and Casey, and Fritz.
