Charles (Chuck) Halverson of Woodbury, MN, age 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026 after a brief battle with cancer. Our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Regions Hospital who so tenderly cared for him during his last days.
Chuck was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Vergie Halverson, daughter Angela Halverson and sisters Sally Halverson and Sharon Halverson Bibeau, brother-in-law Vic Thomsen and many other beloved family and friends. He is survived by his wife Nancy Kramer Halverson, his children, Sally, Mary and Brad Halverson, sisters Violet Thomsen, Norma Henning, Janet (Dave) Lentz and Lynn Haslup, brother-in-law, Terry Bibeau, and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Chuck was born in Stillwater, MN, grew up in Bayport, MN and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1973. He served in the United States Army from 1973 -1976 during which he was stationed in Guam. He was a genuine patriot who loved his country. After discharge he worked at United Hospitals in St. Paul, MN where he met Nancy, his wife of more than 41 years. They settled down in Oakdale, MN and began to raise their family, later moving to Woodbury in 1996. In 1984, Chuck went to work for Andersen Windows in Bayport, MN where he assembled windows for 28 years.
Chuck was a very kind and caring individual, always worrying about the needs of others above his own. Beyond his own family, he loved his extended family. He loved to plan and host family gatherings. He would greet you at the door, get you something to drink and make sure you never left hungry.
Chuck loved to travel. Planning the trip was half the excitement for him, often planning the next one before he was finished with the trip he was on. In recent years, he was able to visit, Alaska, Hawaii, Utah and Arizona National Parks and Florida. He was able to take many cruises including the west coast of California and Mexico, New England, the Baltic Sea, the Caribbean and most recently a trip to Europe including a Mediterranean cruise, time in London and a tour of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Guardian Angels Church, 8260 4th Street North, Oakdale, MN on April 23rd, 2026 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the mass. Lunch will be served following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity in Chuck’s memory.
