Choua Her

Choua Thao Her, 77, of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away on November 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 13, 1948, in Phou Kaboua, Laos, to Song Chue Thao and Chue Her, the ninth of thirteen children. Raised in a Christian home, she grew up watching her father help establish the early Christian faith among the Hmong people, and she carried an unshakable faith in God throughout her life.

In January 1966, she married her devoted husband, Wang Neng Her, and together they shared 60 years of marriage, raising five children and later being blessed with 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A survivor of war and displacement, Choua courageously brought her family through conflict in Laos and later resettled with them in the United States in 1976, where through hard work and quiet strength she helped them build a new life. She also helped many of her siblings immigrate, extending safety and opportunity beyond her own household.

Choua is survived by her husband, Wang Neng Her; her five children: Kaeying, Nhia, Pang, Nou, and Kou; 21 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings. Her life was a testimony of faith, courage, and sacrificial love, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3 and January 4, 2026 from 9:00 am-9:00 pm. and Monday January 5, 2026 at 10:00 am. All services will be held at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard Stillwater, Minnesota.
