Colleen O'Shaughnessy Mulcahy
Age 54 of St. Paul, passed away of natural causes on January 26, 2025.
Colleen was an artist passionate about fashion, design and painting. She captured people with her portrait sketches. Colleen recently celebrated seven months of sobriety with the support of her sponsors, Michele and Misty, her AA community and her long-term friend, Michelle Benson. Colleen was a free spirit who will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She loved to bake cakes for people and was known for her unique gifts. She drove a very loud motorcycle, red hair blowing in the wind, her journey now continues into sunsets she so loved to photograph.
She won many first-place awards in her elementary school years in art, fashion drawings, and illustrating children's stories, including a blue ribbon at the state fair at age 6. An outgoing and loving person, she graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended part-time at Minneapolis Community College. She also took coursework at the Atelier School. Colleen fulfilled a lifelong dream of participating in an art course at MCAD, where she produced a beautiful human figure painting. While expanding her education she explored a possible career as a court room sketch artist, including practicing in her free time at her local courthouse capturing various cases and the inherit drama they included. This practice included a caricature of a judge whom later signed off and said they enjoyed the sketch.
Colleen is preceded in death by father, Joseph; brother, Sean.
She is survived by her mother, Rosella; siblings, Donna (Steve) Kelly and Paul; nieces and nephews, Michael, Fiona, Maeve, and Sienna (Alex) and their children, Ethan and Madeleine; four-legged friends, Nedly and Quincy.
