It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Craig Dietz, who peacefully passed away surrounded by his wife of 50 years, Doris; his son Clinton Dietz; and his daughter, Rachel Lane (Darin), at his home Talonhill in Amery, WI, on April 10th, 2025. He was 71 years old.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola "Dottie" Dietz. He is survived by his father, Charlton "Chuck" Dietz; and two sisters, Robin Dietz-Mayfield (Jack) and Sue Kakuk (Jay).
Craig was someone who knew something about everything. He had many interests and passions. He had a love for nature and the outdoors. For over 30 years Craig would make an annual trip with his friends to go camping and fishing in the Boundary Waters. When he acquired the Talonhill property, he spent every weekend in Wisconsin on the Apple River with his wife and children. Four years ago he built his dream home and became a Wisconsin resident. He enjoyed maintaining and naturalizing the vast landscape. He also loved working on his media library and theater room. Craig had extensive knowledge of music, movies, science and philosophy (just to name a few) which he thoroughly took pleasure in sharing with everyone he knew. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Bless him on his new journey.
A Celebration of Craig's Life will be held on Friday, May 16th, 5:00 pm, at Bradshaw Funeral Home, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, MN 55082. Visitation will begin one hour prior at 4:00 pm. Food and refreshments to follow.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Craig's name to the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin.
