Dale met Cathy when he returned to civilian life in 1976, they married 11/18/1978
Dale was a cement mason starting with residential (much of his work is still around town)before joining local 633 where he finished concrete across many states until retiring at 62 to care for Charlie after his car accident resulting in a traumatic brain injury.
Dale liked to fish, hunt, 4 wheeling, but mostly loved his family time, especially on the St. Croix canoeing and camping, then as we aged, with a Searay with a motor, a Regal with a motor and bed to a 50' houseboat , the " Use Ta Paddle" where the family lives 6 months of the year.
Dale and Cathy loved to travel the river watching for sunrises, sunsets, and rainbows. They also road tripped all over the US for years before joining friends Curt and Mel in Ixtapa Mexico every winter with the friends/family they developed. We were able to watch the fireworks together from the boat for the last time. Dale passed peacefully on July 5th.
A special Thank You to Lakeview Hospice for their kindness and caring, especially Abbey and Melinda for helping with the logistics of getting Dale to the boat/ water to be able to live out his days in his favorite place.
