Dale Oscar Richert, of Bayport, Minn., formerly of Stillwater Township, passed away on Saturday, July 26, at the age of 88, surrounded by his beloved family.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marilyn (Raduenz); three children, Lynn (Terra), Jeff (Maria) and Nancy (Marcus); grandsons Joe, Isaac, Nick, Alex and Lucas; nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Jo; parents Oscar and Amanda; and sisters Helen, Lois and Dorothy.
Dale began his life on the Richert farm in Lake Elmo, but grew up in the village of Oak Park, where he met his wife, Marilyn. They found a little piece of heaven in Stillwater Township, the home where they raised four children, and spoiled five grandsons and many pets. Dale was a hard worker who loved the simple things in life: our annual camping trips and outings with family, backyard bonfires, summer and winter activities on the St. Croix River, nature, feeding the birds and animals that gathered in his backyard, his two big vegetable gardens, polkas, comedies, old tractors and a bottomless cup of coffee. He always made great coffee for our annual Oak Park picnics, commemorating the village of Oak Park. He retired from NSP after 34 years of employment.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 4, at Bradshaw Funeral Home, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., Stillwater. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., a service at 11 a.m., with lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lakeview Hospice.
