Born: September 8, 1940 - Minneapolis, MN
Died: June 9, 2025 at Lake Region Hospital in Elbow Lake, MN
David Loren Boll, age 84, of Elbow Lake, MN, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025 while holding the hand of his wife, Suzanne.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Hans and Olava; and his mother, Dorothy Boll.
David graduated from Minneapolis North High School in 1958. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Upon returning home, David began his career at Big Bear in St. Cloud, MN, which was later acquired by Tractor Supply. In time, he and his business partner decided to start their own venture, opening D & V Farm Store in Mora, MN. This laid the foundation for what would become the Fleet Supply Company Inc.
After joining the Wheatbelt buying group, the business expanded to Amery and St. Croix Falls, WI, with David becoming the sole owner for 28 successful years. Through his determination, perseverance, and the support of many dedicated employees, Dave's business flourished, guided by his steadfast faith and the prayers of those who supported him.
David met his future wife, Suzanne, in 1972 while purchasing lighting fixtures for his Mora store at Barry Lighting Co. in Minneapolis. Despite 17 years passing before their first date in 1989, it was clear that their connection was meant to be. Together, they shared 33 years of marriage, celebrated on May 16, 2025.
David was a loving husband, a quiet but present companion, a good listener, and a loyal friend. He cherished his friendships and had a deep love for his family. As a passionate and steadfast Republican, he believed strongly in his values. In his spare time, David enjoyed being on the lake with his friends. He loved evenings in the boat with Suzanne, teaching her how to fish and sharing in the work of cleaning their catch at home.
In 2022, David and Suzanne moved to Elbow Lake, MN, where they enjoyed their later years together.
David is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nephews, and more. He was loved and held each of these people close to his heart.
A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held at 11am, Saturday, June 14th at Bradshaw, 3131 Minnehaha Avenue, Minneapolis, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
