David John Rewey

David John Rewey was born on July 14, 1948, to John (Jack) Delbert and Louise Elizabeth (nee Bruggeman) Rewey of Wausau, WI.  On August 10, 2026 David lost his valiant battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was surrounded by his loving family.

After graduating from Hill High School in Maplewood, MN on May 31, 1966, he attended the University of Minnesota for a short time and later received an Industrial Engineering degree in 1987 through a 3M sponsored engineering program. In 1990, David received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee, WI. David was employed by 3M and Imation until his retirement.

David married Nancy Lee Rasmussen on May 20, 1967, and they welcomed two sons: Patrick John, born Sept. 21, 1967, and Gregory Richard, born July 3, 1970.  They were later amicably divorced.

On July 26, 1980, David married Dawn Ann Senn, and together they became a family of four with sons, Patrick and Gregory.  David and Dawn shared a love of family, travel, theatre, and the great outdoors. Their family later grew with the births of Alexander David on Feb. 27, 1986, and Anna Louise on April 13, 1994.

David spent many happy times with friends and family and will be remembered and appreciated for his ability to share and teach his life lessons, his love of the outdoors whether in a tree stand or on a boat, or sitting in the theatre watching a live version of a special musical with those he loved.

David was preceded in death by his parents: John D. & Louise E. Rewey, In-laws: Dale A. & Delores M. Senn. His brother James E. and (wife) Pamela E. Rewey. His nephew Donald D. Ware, Brother-in-law Michael D. Warman and his son Gregory R. Rewey (living wife) Susanna.

He is survived by his loving wife Dawn  A. Senn-Rewey and their children Patrick J. Rewey (wife) Amy M. Rewey, Alexander D. Rewey (wife) Kanako Tokita Rewey, and daughter Anna Louise Rewey. His brothers Robert A. (wife) Patricia A. Rewey, Richard M. (wife) Candis L. Rewey, Brothers-in-Law Douglas D. (wife) Jo Ann M. Senn, Dennis R. Senn, Darla D. (husband) Richard C. Constable.

Grandchildren: Heather M. Lund (husband) Robert R. Lund, Andrew D. Rewey, Nathan A. Rewey, Sarah E. Rewey, Emily L. Rewey, John P. Rewey, Calvin A. Rewey, Emma D. Rewey, and Nao A. Rewey.  Great-grandchildren: Nathan R. Lund, Grace A. Lund, and Gabriella H. Lund.

A Celebration of David's life will be held Saturday, October 10th at 11:00 AM, at Bradshaw, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear, Minnesota. A visitation one hour prior.
