David Rowland Hague, age 89, of Stillwater, Minnesota passed away on September 8, 2022.
He is reunited with his parents, Alfred and Clara Hague; and brother-in-law, Clyde Gates. Survived by his beloved wife, Susan Sung-hi Hague; children, Stephen (Julie) Hague, Diana Bostany, and Christina Hague; grandchildren, Sara, Rachel, and Jessica Hague, Joseph (Brittany), David, and Evan Bostany; great-grandchild, Joseph Bostany; sister, Mary Gates; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was born on May 21, 1933 and grew up in Minneapolis. He went to college at the University of Minnesota for Chemical Engineering and joined the Army ROTC program. He was stationed in Korea where he met his wife Sung-hi who was working on the base. After returning from Korea with Sung-hi he worked for 3M for 47 years in various engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory positions. While employed at 3M he and Sung-hi moved to Austin, Texas and lived there for over 30 years before returning to Minnesota to live in Stillwater in 2019. David enjoyed camping, singing in the 3M Male Chorus, and Square/Round dancing with Sung-hi. He was an active member of Christ United Methodist church in St. Paul where he taught Sunday school. He was also a Boy Scout troop leader for several years and enjoyed volunteering at the local library in Austin, Texas. David was a kind, generous, intelligent, fun loving person who always had a smile. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held at 4PM, on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Stillwater, MN (2800 Curve Crest Blvd.). A visitation will be prior to the service from 3PM to 4PM. Reception to follow service. Private family interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
