David Michael Schiebel

David passed away in his sleep we believe from a heart attack that was very unexpected on March 4th. We are devastated. My Dad was larger than life and lived and did incredible, amazing things that made most people consider him a legend.

He started in Corrections originally at the Stillwater Prison then moving on to Oak Park Heights Prison the day they opened and then was head of the SWAT Team, State Investigator, State Police and U.S. Marshall. Also worked with Minneapolis Police. I remember at his retirement party all of the Police dubbed him "Warrior of the streets" but my Mother would always call him Officer Angry. To us he was Boompa. Hannah couldn't say Grandpa so she called him Boompa until the day she died and her Brothers Brian and Dylan followed her calling him Boompa.

The man I'd always known with this tough exterior melted and changed when Hannah, Brian and Dylan were born. My Dad and my kids were extremely close and he was never the same after Hannah's death. He kept telling me that one day he'd be with Hannah, his son Christopher and his Mother LaDonna. Most of all everyone will remember him for the deep love he had for my Mother. They were madly in love and together 51 years. My Mother is completely shattered. He loved to hunt and fish in his spare time with his beloved dog Gary. He lived an incredible life and could've written a book about all his stories. Many happy stories as well as sad stories. But the main person he loved and protected fiercely was my mom Robin. He was a force of nature. He helped my Mom care for me after my stem cell/bone marrow transplant.

Everybody loved my Dad. I don't think there's one person he ever met that didn't immediately feel a bond. The service will be at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater on Wednesday March 18th at 4pm with a visitation at 3pm.
