David proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he was on active duty for four years. His military service was a defining chapter of his life, marked by courage, dedication, and sacrifice for his country.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his son, and his daughter, losses he carried with him with great dignity and strength.
