Dawn passed away too soon on May 21st surrounded by family, after a vigorous battle with cancer. Being a compassionate soul, Dawn chose a career as a Registered Nurse where she spent the next 20 years helping others. Her love of the medical field drew her in a new direction and she made the difficult decision to go back to school, where she finished at the top of her class, earning RHIT/MRT certification. She put in another 20 years at Regions Hospital, forging many strong friendships there. Dawn was an avid reader, loved dogs and cats, hiking and nature [as long as it wasn't scratching around her tent or camper at night! ] She also enjoyed music, friends, and Happy Hour. Dawn had many good times downhill skiing where she made more good friends and met the love of her life Paul; they spent over 40 years together. She possessed a keen sense of humor as well, "I was led astray by following my own path."
Dawn is survived by her husband Paul, brother Richard [Carol], her sister Mary [John], Paul's siblings: Rose, Jean [Chuck], Mark [Peggy],Teresa [Bill], and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of Dawn's life at 11:00am Wednesday, July 24 at Bradshaw, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Mahtomedi.
