Dennis "Denny" James Lehman, 76, of Marine on St. Croix, MN, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Minnesota, Denny was born on December 29, 1948, to Betty and Leonard Lehman. He grew up in St. Paul, graduated from Harding High School, and began his lifelong career at 3M.
Denny met his wife Janice "Jan" (Zimm) in 1988, marrying in 1989. They shared a deep bond and a joyful life filled with adventure. Together, they enjoyed hiking, fishing, and traveling along the North Shore-especially their time spent at the family cabins in the fall. Their laughter, love, and shared appreciation for the outdoors defined their many years together. Denny will be dearly missed.
An avid outdoorsman, Denny had a deep passion for hunting, fishing, and photography. He felt most at peace behind the camera, wandering through forests, along lakeshores, and beside streams-capturing hundreds of breathtaking wildlife photographs. Each year, he created a calendar featuring his favorite shots. This was a cherished gift among family and friends. Every photo came with a story-whether it was tracking an animal or waiting patiently for the perfect shot. Some of his pictures have been featured in the photo book Capture Minnesota. Denny was also an active member of the Bald Eagle Sportsman's Association. He spent many afternoons skeet shooting and enjoying the camaraderie of his friends.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Leonard Lehman. He is survived by his loving wife, Jan; daughter, Janella (Adam) Fesenmaier of Minneapolis, MN; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth Fesenmaier of Minneapolis, MN, and Stella Fesenmaier of Minneapolis, MN. He is also survived by his sisters, Lynn Plooster and Judy Butler; as well as many nieces and nephews; and several close friends.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 on Friday, August 1st, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 at Bradshaw Funeral Home, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, MN. Interment will take place at 11:00 on Saturday, August 2nd at Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth, MN.
