Dennis James Schluender

Dennis James Schluender, 74, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away after a courageous 13-year battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Dennis was born November 1, 1951 in Alexandria, Minn., to Emil and Katherine Schluender. He grew up in small town Monticello, Minnesota. The second born of seven children, Dennis deeply loved his siblings Jerome, Diane, Ron, Janet, Gary, and Robert.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara, with whom he built a life grounded in love, loyalty, and unwavering partnership. He was a proud and dedicated father to Derek (Ashley) Schluender, Darin (Karena) Schluender, and Brietta (Chris) Hutson. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Emerson, Everly, Henrik, Emil, and Calvin Schluender, and Maran and Marcus Hutson, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Dennis was a friend to all. Known for his warmth, humor, and steady presence, he had a way of making people feel welcome and valued. He spent his career as a plumber, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way. More than anything, Dennis was a family man. He was deeply involved in his children's lives, coaching their sports teams and showing up for every moment that mattered.

Whether on the sidelines of a game, at home with his family, or lending a hand to a friend, Dennis lived a life defined by generosity, dedication, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Memorial service to be held Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 10:00 am, Bradshaw, 4600 Greenhaven Drive in White Bear Lake, MN. A visitation will begin one hour prior at 9:00 am. Luncheon to follow service.
