Age 73 of Arden Hills passed away on February 22, 2019 at Twin Rivers Senior Campus, Cannon Falls, surrounded by family members, staff, and hospice caregivers.
Diana loved to ski, ice skate, roller skate, bike, and hike. She read tons of books while growing up, loved taking pictures on her little Kodak Brownie Camera, some of which she developed by herself.
She studied hard and graduated with honors from St. Bernard's High School, St. Paul, where she earned a full scholarship to the University of Minnesota. After graduating with a teaching degree, she went on to school to earn a degree at Northwestern College, specializing in teaching mentally challenged children and adults. She continued this vocation in the St. Paul School System until she was retirement age, at which time she would do sub-teaching when needed. She loved all of the kids she taught as if they were her own.
She was very religious and loved the Lord Jesus, whom she could not wait to see, but didn't know why it was "taking so long". Diana had been on two missionary trips, one to South America, and one to Russia.
Diana was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Palmer. She will be greatly missed by her mother, Lorraine Palmer; her sisters, Jeanne (Michael) Dean, Mary Palmer, Theresa Deutsch, and Cecilia (John) Stafford; and her brothers, Terry (Jeanne) Palmer, and Michael (Susan) Palmer.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, March 1st at ST. BERNARD'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 187 Geranium Ave., St. Paul, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Dementia Society of America. The family gives many thanks to Tisha Mager, Theresa Deutsch, and the staff at Twin Rivers and Brighton Hospice who all helped Diana get to her rebirth.
