Diana L. Prochniak

June 8, 1937 — February 9, 2026

White Bear Township

Diana L. Prochniak ("Diane"), age 88, of White Bear Township Passed peacefully on February 9, 2026.

Diane was born and raised in Truman, MN, where she was a devoted member of the Truman Community Baptist Church. It was there that she found a lifelong inspiration in her Sunday School teacher, Alma, whose guidance helped plant the seeds of the deep faith and gentle spirit Diane would carry forever.

She attended the University of Minnesota, earning her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. It was during her college years that she met the love of her life, Richard. It was love at first sight; they married on March 21, 1961, and spent 57 wonderful years together, raising their four children in Minneapolis.

Diane was known for always having a gentle word for everyone she met. Her hands were rarely still-she was a baker, gardener, and seamstress. However, her greatest passion was music. Diane found profound joy in playing the piano and singing, frequently sharing her gift of hymns with residents at local senior living facilities. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life; she was a proud member of the "Prayer Warriors" and shared her devotion with the world by writing and publishing several books of hymns and scriptures.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard; her parents, Perry and Maxine Hinton; and her brother, Dennis Hinton.

She is survived by her children: David (Barbara) Prochniak, John Prochniak, Matthew (Marnie) Prochniak, and Amy (Jay) Regnier; her grandchildren: Jake, Charlie, Josie, and Liz; and her brother, Mike (Connie) Hinton. Diane's legacy of faith, music, and unconditional kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of Diane's life will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., Bradshaw, 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear, MN. A visitation beginning one hour prior.

A private interment was held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on February 16, 2026.
