1937 Dollis 2026

Dollis Lynn Harris

Apr 8, 1937 — Jun 16, 2026

Dollis Lynn Harris (nee Woestehoff)

Dollis Lynn Harris, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, beloved church organist and child of God, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026 at home with her steadfast husband by her side. Her life was a beautiful testament to her deep faith, lived out daily through her quiet devotion, joyful spirit, and selfless love.

Born in Blakeley Township and delivered to the hospital in a shoebox, she retained a soft voice due to a bowing of her vocal cords. She used her voice strategically - learning how to play the organ instead of singing, learning to watch out for all the uniquely situated people in her world, and learning to discipline her children with never a harsh word.

She loved her growing-up years with her sister Phyllis, and then brother John and baby sister Marlys. She thrived in her country life with family; she was proud of her perfect attendance pins from Sunday School, showing her favorite cow (Bessie) at the MN State Fair, and always being in reach of her sister Phyllis and close to her siblings and cousins.

She graduated with a B.A. from Wartburg College in 1959, and after working as a Parish Worker in Kansas, earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Mankato State and taught for several years in Preston and Minneapolis.

On June 19, 1965, she married Roger Moh Harris. They moved to Stillwater, Minnesota and Dollis became the organist for St. Paul Lutheran Church where she joyfully played for 35 years and accompanied the choir. She and Roger raised their three children in Stillwater, and she taught countless piano students from her home studio. She gardened, sewed, cooked, and was active in 4-H and loved visiting with friends and neighbors. She loved when kids came over to play with the toys.

Dollis delighted in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved each of them every day like the day they were born – with unbridled joy and optimism. Her nieces and nephews also delighted her, as did her friends, colleagues, and students. For everyone who met her, it was most likely that if you knew her, she loved you deeply.

Dollis enjoyed spending her vacations with family and friends at Camp Onomia in Onamia, Minnesota, and celebrating birthdays, baptisms, graduations, confirmations, and sometimes for no reason at all with her large family. She loved to play games, eat sweets, and talk to everyone. She was always amazed at where she got to travel in life: Across Europe, including a special tour of Germany, and also to Tanzania, India, Australia/New Zealand, and she thoroughly enjoyed her travels across the United States of America and repeat trips to Branson, MO and Gulf Shores, AL, Arizona and North Carolina. She always came home to Stillwater, Minnesota with her loving husband.

Dollis slowed down when Parkinson’s peaked, but it never dulled her brightness. We will forever cherish and carry forward her kindness, simple pleasure in life, and her unforgettable smile.

Dollis is survived by her husband, Roger Moh; children, Ralph (Susan) Harris, Karla Harris (Aaron Smith), and Dora (Karthik) Kripapuri; beloved grandchildren, Brookelle Bolf, Breylyn Alexis Bolf, Adrianna Claire (Kyle) Calaguas, Addisyn Grace Harris, Avaree Jade Harris, Carson Harris Kripapuri and Sophia Lynn Kripapuri, Cassy (Cary) Peterson and Jack Franson; great-grandchildren Brecklyn Rayne Bolf and Chet Thomas Peterson; siblings, Phyllis Martin and Marlys (Mark) Brandell, in-law siblings, Dave (Judy) Harris and Barb (Dick) Saxlund and many beloved nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Evelyn & Wilmer Woestehoff, her brother and sister-in-law John & Dorothy Woestehoff, and her brother-in-law Larry Martin.
