Donald Eugene Bishop, 87, of Woodbury, MN, formerly of Columbia, PA, Baltimore, MD, Newark, DE, Littleton, CO, Lanham, MD, Buffalo Creek, IL, St. Petersburg, FL, and Stillwater, MN, passed away at home with family on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
He was an Army Veteran. Don retired at the age of 62 after nearly 30 years in banking, remaining in the same building through many name changes and consolidations.
Don was always interested in following the kid’s activities. Fortunately he was able to attend most of their games, concerts, tournaments, etc. He was interested in most sports having played baseball and basketball in high school. Golf became his post retirement activity. Living in Florida he was able to play on a year round basis.
Don was always active in the church where they lived. He has served on most committees of the Methodist Church serving as Chairperson of many.
Sue and Don appreciated the blessing of their children having strong marriages, productive lives, and remained close to them and each other over the years. They are grateful that their grandchildren have grown up in loving homes.
Don and Sue felt the warmth and friendship of the people of First United Methodist Church in Stillwater from their first visit and joined shortly after their arrival in Minnesota.
Don will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Susan; children, Steven (Erin) Bishop, Beth (Todd) Harmening, and Michael (Elaine) Bishop; grandchildren, Nick, Lauren, Hannah, William, Julia, and Jack; and other family and friends.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, June 25 at 2pm with visitation one hour prior at First United Methodist Church, 813 Myrtle St W, Stillwater, MN. His final resting place will be in Columbia, PA where his family and Sue’s family are interred.
