Donald Duane Larson

Age 88, of Oak Park Heights, formerly of Hibbing and Grand Forks, ND, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026.

Preceded in death by his infant sons, David and Duane; parents, Nels and Gloria; brothers, Loren, Arthur and Norman.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Kazuko; children, Dale (Jacalyn), Linda (Kenneth) Ray and Daniel (Susan); grandchildren, Carissa, Jason, Danica, Nicholas and Maya; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Upon graduation from Hibbing High School in 1955, Donald enlisted in the United States Air Force and was sent to Japan where he met the love of his life, Kazuko Nishio. Donald served his country for 22 years, including one year of active duty in Vietnam. After retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the USPS as a mail carrier in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Donald and Kazuko were true soul mates and were inseparable. They were deeply proud of their three children, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren who they loved unconditionally. Donald is remembered as a kind-hearted man and will be missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Boutwells Landing for their tender care of their parents.

Service, Monday, April 20, 2026, 10:00 A.M. at the Swanson Chapel at Boutwells Landing, 5600 Norwich Parkway, Oak Park Heights with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
