Jesus Christ called Don home on December 28, 2015. Greeting him were his wife of 60 years, Nancy Engle, parents, Merlin and Edna Engle, his sisters, Betty Engle LeVin and Joy Ringold, and brother in-law, Jack LeVin. Left behind to lead a life worthy of the Gospel of Christ is his wife, Jean Engle, his children Dr. David Engle (Jensy), Daniel Engle (Dawn) and Nancy Ann Yaeger (Greg), 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Don's Christian faith sustained him for all of his 88 years. He practiced law for 32 years with the Burlington Northern Railroad and retired as Senior VP Law & Government Affairs. Thereafter he joined the law firm of Oppenheimer, Wolf & Donnelly as a partner and thereafter became the managing partner of the firm. He had been president of King of Kings Lutheran Church in St. Louis, MO and First Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake, MN. Don was elected to the Board of the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce, was a board member of the Regions Hospital Foundation of St. Paul and an Administrative Council member for the Northern Star Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Don was a friend to many. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at BRADSHAW, 4600 Greenhaven Drive at Hwy 96, White Bear (one mile west of 35E). A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at WAVERLY GARDENS, 5919 Centerville Road, North Oaks, MN 55127. Private family interment. Memorials preferred to the Northern Star Council BSA (northernstarbsa.org), American Cancer Society or donor's choice.
