Always full of life and love, Doris is preceded in death by parents, Einard and Senia Pelto, sister, Janice Ruonavaara. She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years Richard Stone, sons Mark and John Stone, grandchildren Emily and Johanna Stone, sister, Nancy Pontz. cousin Jan Therrian, great friend Jeanie Loukaa and many nephews and nieces. Doris retired from federal employment from the Soil Conservation Service in 1994. Originally from the upper peninsula of Michigan, She completed her degree in elementary English at the teachers college in Dillon Montana. Always the adventurer, she lived in numerous states including Montana, California and Arizona before making Minnesota her permanent home. Doris loved being with family and adored her black lab Jack and many other pets. Doris enjoyed watching sports, talking politics, going to parks, seeing country concerts and she took on any challenge. Visitation at 10:00 am, Service at 11:00 am, Tuesday December 29th at North Emanuel Lutheran Church 301 Hatch Ave, St. Paul. Private interment at Fort Snelling Veterans Cemetery. Memorials to Parkinson's research preferred.
