Edwin Earl Cain

Edwin (Ed, Eddie) Earl Cain, 93, of Stillwater, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on November 3, 2025. Born in La Junta, Colorado, on October 25, 1932, Ed lived a life rooted in faith, family, music, and community service.
A man of deep faith in God, Ed was known for his kind heart, generosity, and devotion to his loved ones. His first love was music — he studied, taught, and performed it throughout his life, including professionally with Henry Mancini and in his church community.
Ed served on the Stillwater School Board for nearly 20 years and worked with city and federal leaders to secure funding for local projects, including improvements to Lily Lake, rebuilding the levee along the St. Croix River, and the new bridge south of town.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Myrtle Cain; brother, Don (Jean) Cain; and wife, Mary Ellen (Cheatham) Cain. He is survived by his daughter, Robin (Philip Kadidlo) Cain; sons Nelson Patrick (Todd) Cain and Michael (Shauna) Cain; and grandchildren Riley, Christian, Ashton, and Nathan Kadidlo, and Carina Cain.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater, Minnesota.
