Eleanor Luella Davidson was born September 18th, 1932 to Luella (Vanderhoff) & John Davidson. She attended Chelsea Heights Elementary school in St. Paul with her lifelong friends, Joanne (MacDonald) Anderson & Olive (Williams) Kunz. These three girls graduated together from Murray High School in 1950. After graduation, Eleanor worked at the St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company. After work she would walk home through the Midway of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Later, she worked in the State of Minnesota Civil Service Department, the MN Correctional Facility, MN/DOT, the VFW selling pull tabs, and even sat as a temp/receptionist at Andersen Corporation at the age of 80. Eleanor, Joanne and Olive remained friends until Eleanor's death.

On September 19th, 1953 Eleanor was married to Gilbert James Anderson.
Eleanor was a big bass drum player in the 1953 Field-Schlick Drum and Glockenspiel Corp. Dad was her biggest fan, coming along to the parades as she marched with her big drum.

Eleanor enjoyed playing cards and would entertain couples in our home on the weekends with snacks and "pop." She enjoyed having holiday parties with all of her siblings and their children. The holidays were full of laughter, love and tears.

Eleanor's favorite job of all was keeping her 150-year-old home spotless. She took pride in running her home smoothly so that when dad came home he could relax after a long day's work, or so that we could get out to Square Lake to go swimming on those hot summer days. She loved her job and she was good at it! She was a fabulous baker of cookies, pies, cakes and bars year-round, but especially at Christmastime. She was amazing!

Eleanor was married to Gilbert 49 years, until his death on December 7th, 2002. After he passed, Eleanor filled her time as a receptionist at Andersen Corp, and spending time with her wonderful family.

Eleanor was diagnosed in October of 2020 with late-onset Alzheimer's disease. Her later years were spent at Boutwells Landing.
