Elizabeth Swanson

Our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully just weeks before her 95th birthday on March 6, 2021. Betty was born March 30, 1926 to Arvid and Alpha Nelson in Hudson, WI. She is predeceased by the love of her life, husband Herbert “Lindy” Swanson, Jr.; son, Douglas Swanson; parents; three sisters; one brother; and longtime companion, Roman Mondloch. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Thomas (Kenny Timm); sons, Bradley (Kim) Swanson, Lindy Swanson (Dawn Nelsen); daughter-in-law, Faith Swanson; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Russell (Anne) Nelson; sister, Dorothy Forsblom; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Betty’s pride and joy has always been her family, and she was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by her family. We would like to thank the staff at Oak Park Senior Living and Boutwell’s Gables for their kind and compassionate care shown to Betty. A special thank you to her hospice nurses, Bonnie and Devin.
