Ellen Marie Dunn

Ellen Marie (Fox) Dunn of Shoreview, MN died peacefully June 12, 2026. She was born September 16, 1938, in Osage, Iowa, to Casper and Bertha Fox. She grew up on the family farm in New Haven, Iowa and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in New Haven. Ellen loved farm life, showing animals at the Mitchell County fair, and having adventures with her siblings and many cousins in the area. Ellen graduated from Clarke College in Dubuque and continued her chemistry studies at the University of Minnesota.

At the U of MN, Ellen met the love of her life, Edward. Ed's best friend lived near Ellen and told her he knew a good Catholic boy she should meet. Ed and Ellen were married for 63 years, until his death in 2024. The couple lived in North Dakota and throughout the Twin Cities before moving to Red Wing, MN where they lived for 25 years.

Ellen returned to school and graduated with an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. She built her career at Interstate Medical Center in Red Wing, eventually leading as Administrator for 10 years until her retirement in 1995. In Red Wing, Ellen was active in the League of Women Voters and St. Joseph's Catholic Church and co-founded the Red Wing Area Women's Network.

Ellen had a lifelong love of the arts, especially poetry, and she saw beauty in all the people and places around her. She passed along these loves, along with her interests of hiking, travel, puzzles, and mysteries to those who knew and loved her.

Ellen is survived by her three daughters, Laurie Dunn, Diann (Tom) Reischman, Cheryl (Tim) Krinke; grandchildren Elizabeth and Katherine Reischman, and Valerie and Edward Krinke; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward, parents, infant son Patrick Edward, her sister Jeanice Janes, her brother David Fox, and an infant brother Daniel Fox.

We will celebrate Ellen's life September 26, 2026, 1-4pm, at Bradshaw Funeral of White Bear Lake, MN. Memorials preferred to the Anderson Center at Tower View in Red Wing, MN.
